Business Need – Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, the international real estate services brand whose website coldwellbanker.com has had over 30 million visitors, has conducted several projects with Onboard to enhance and expand the information and capabilities of their website to stay ahead of consumer expectations. Customer trust and Coldwell Banker’s longstanding reputation were prime concerns and they looked to Onboard as a valuable resource capable of meeting and maintaining their high standards.

Solutions – The Coldwell Banker® brand website upgrades included additional neighborhood information; branded, enhanced mapping software; a home value estimation tool; and a home tracker tool to help its franchisee’s homeowner customers estimate their home values over time. NRT

Business Need – NRT, the nation’s largest residential real estate brokerage firm, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Realogy Corporation, and does business under the Coldwell Banker®, ERA®, Sotheby’s International Realty®, and The Corcoran Group® brands. Operating over a dozen consumer real estate websites, NRT was looking to partner with a company to enhance its listings with community and school information. The key was for the data and interfaces to be adaptable so that the many sites could have the content up and running in a short time without the usual technical problems. This far-reaching project affected NRT’s business on a national level.

Solutions – Onboard’s support team met the challenge with data and products that were smoothly deployed to the sites. The individual sites were not only able to integrate the data and programs, but were able to customize them when they wanted to make improvements. For one site covering markets in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, Onboard worked with NRT to establish a “Smart Linking” system to match detailed school and district information for individual listings with no additional clicking needing to be done by the end user. “We recognize that aggregating, analyzing, and presenting school and community information has its challenges and we have been happy with Onboard’s solutions,” said Evan Cony, NRT’s Manager of Internet Marketing.

Results – In the case of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage California website, the NRT team assessed end-user feedback and determined listing pages needed to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate. This project created a more user-friendly experience with respect to the local information provided by Onboard Informatics on CaliforniaMoves.com, increasing traffic to listings and time on site. Together with Onboard’s implementation team, NRT was able to boost traffic to Community and School reports by 160% through the custom enhancement of the Neighborhood Navigator solution. NRT also experienced a 15% spike in average time spent on the site’s property detail information pages.


Redfin

Business Need – Redfin, a Seattle-based online real estate brokerage, uses technology to empower consumers by providing information that would usually come through an agent, including past sales, property outlines, neighborhoods, price changes, and relevant blogs. In their continuous goal to provide relevant information, Redfin wanted to upgrade to include School Information and Ratings content.

Solutions – Redfin originally chose Onboard to supply School Information and ratings as well as a consumer interface for narrowing down the data. As the project progressed, Redfin added Onboard Neighborhood Boundaries and Neighborhood Information to their site, making it even more useful and attractive to consumers. “Onboard’s sales and account management people have been great, responding within 24 hours or less,” said Bryan Selner, Director of Account Management.”

Results – Redfin experienced a quick return on investment that eliminated the hassle of using other content sources. “We were able to get it up and running in a few weeks, which is a great turnaround time, considering how time consuming it is to acquire and integrate many local, distinct data sources,” Selner said.
